We Have a Proud Tradition

AIM Inc., one of the nation's leading manufacturers of precision components and assemblies for military and commercial use, takes great pride in producing the Silver Seitz gun with uncompromising standards of quality.

The History of Silver Seitz-100% American Made

The Seitz Trap Gun was built by Tom Seitz, well known by all trap shooters.  Tom, with his wife Sue, lived in Salem, Oregon, and manufactured Seitz trap guns.  He had manufactured a total of 45 guns.

Tom passed away in October, 1988.We (Bill Jacobsen and Jerry Phillips) had become good friends with Tom and Sue Seitz. Sometime after Tom's death, Bill and Jerry began talking about manufacturing a gun.  During one of their discussions, they decided to call Sue Seitz to see if she would be willing for us to build and carry on the Seitz named trap gun. After meeting with Sue, she agreed ,as long as the gun was a top quality trap gun like Tom would have wanted. They decided to name the new gun the "Silver Seitz" - "Silver" for the Silver Dollar Trap Club, and of course "Seitz" to honor Tom Seitz. Jerry's company in Parkton, Maryland - AIM Inc.-is one of the nation's leading manufacturers of precision components and assemblies for military defense and commercial products.  Jerry's knowledge in this field explains why we have one of the finest precision built trap guns in the world. . . . and so the Silver Seitz was born.

To Remove Release Trigger:

When disassembling the trigger, the gun should be in a fired state.

Step 1: Remove the two torque screws.  Pull side plate towards bottom of gun to remove.

Step 2: Remove allen head screw from SLIDE BLOCK (#45).  Replace screw in top hole of SLIDE BLOCK.  (Approx. two turns.)  Hold finger against plunger in front of SLIDE BLOCK, lift up, pull on screw, and remove SLIDE BLOCK. (Note: The screw in the top of SLIDE BLOCK acts as a handle to remove and replace SLIDE BLOCK.)

Step 3: Remove TRIGGER PIN (#6). (Insert small screwdriver in pin groove to pry up pin.)  Remove RELEASE CATCH (#48).  Twist TRIGGER (#46) 90 degrees and remove through bottom of gun.

Step 4: Remove SEAR PIN (#7).  Using needle nose pliers, remove SEAR (#47), and SPRING (#10).  RELEASE TRIGGER (#46) is now out of gun.

To Install Pull Trigger:

Step 1: Holding TRIGGER (#18) at 90 degrees, slip in through TRIGGER GUARD (#27) up into frame, twist 90 degrees, and install TRIGGER PIN (#6).

Step 2: Using needle nose pliers, grasp PULL SEAR (#17) firmly.  Make sure the SEAR SPRING (#10) is installed.  Slide SEAR (#17) into frame and replace PIN (#7).

Step 3: Replace Allen head screw from RELEASE BLOCK (#45) into top hole of PULL BLOCK (#19).  Push block down into frame so that the plunger in SLIDE BLOCK pushes against TRIGGER (#46).  Push SLIDE BLOCK (#19) down into frame using a flat blade screwdriver.  Compress plunger in front of SLIDE BLOCK.  While plunger is compressed, push down on the SLIDE BLOCK and it will fall into place.

Step 4: Remove allen head screw from top of SLIDE BLOCK and replace into rear hole of SLIDE BLOCK, making sure it is tight.

Step 5: Open and close the gun to check for proper function.

To Remove Pull Trigger:

Step 1: Remove two torque screws.  Pull slide plate towards bottom of gun to remove.

Step 2: Remove allen head screw from rear of SLIDE BLOCK (#19).  Install in top hole of SLIDE BLOCK.  Place finger on front plunger in SLIDE BLOCK.  Pull up on allen screw and remove through side of gun.  Remove SEAR PIN (#7) and remove SEAR (#17), and SPRING (#10).

To Install Release Trigger:

Step 1: Install TRIGGER (#46) through bottom of frame, twist 90 degrees until holes line up.  Using needle nose pliers, grasp RELEASE CATCH (#48).  (RELEASE CATCH straddles front side of TRIGGER.  Put RELEASE CATCH down into frame, push back until it straddles the TRIGGER.  Line up holes and install TRIGGER PIN (#6).  Grasp SEAR (#47) with needle nose pliers, making sure the SEAR SPRING (#10) is in place.  Slide into frame and install SEAR PIN (#7). (Note: SEAR must be between TRIGGER and RELEASE CATCH.)

Step 2: Remove allen head screw from PULL TRIGGER SLIDE BLOCK (#19) and install in top hole of RELEASE SLIDE BLOCK (#45).  Holding SLIDE BLOCK with allen screw, push the SLIDE BLOCK onto the frame. (Note: Make sure plungers are in the correct position around TRIGGER.)

Step 3 :Once the SLIDE BLOCK is partially installed, use a flat blade screwdriver to compress the front plunger of the SLIDE BLOCK and push down into place. (Note: If SLIDE BLOCK will not fall into place completely, a small punch or pin may be used to compress the inside small plunger which operates the RELEASE CATCH (#48).

Step 4: While compressing the small plunger, push lightly on the SLIDE BLOCK and it will fall into place.  Remove allen screw from top of SLIDE BLOCK, install in rear hole of SLIDE BLOCK, and make sure it’s tight.

Step 5: Open and close the gun to check for proper function.
